THRUSTERS

Dense transport systems rely on the thruster as their essential component. Initially developed in the 1960s, dense phase systems were introduced to overcome the limitations of transport in dilute phase and enable the conveyance of materials over long distances using compressed air at high pressure (>1 Bar). Consequently, tanks are designed to withstand high pressures and may have variable volumes depending on the desired flow rate, with PED or ASME certification.

Thrusters can be constructed from painted carbon steel, stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316, with interior and exterior finishes tailored to customer needs. Furthermore, all tanks can be fitted with components suitable for installation in ATEX zones.

The use of high pressure and low air flow in dense phase systems facilitates the conveyance of material at very low speeds (1-10 m/s) through the pipeline without damaging fragile materials, segregating mixtures, or causing wear in abrasive materials.
